weekend distractions: AV edition

1. first person arts story slam at the philadelphia museum of art!
i like stories and i like when people tell them publicly...so i think that i am going to enjoy myself tonight at this special event (during 'arts after 5' at the PMA) where the theme is GIFTS.

(the story in the video above is pretty funny and the guy is from MN...awesome! i had a job where i had to go to the dump more than a few times...let me just say right now that it was not a romantic place.)

2. quality time with my TED app!
according to the TED site: "TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader."

the FREE iphone and ipad app has videos and a streaming radio station with tons (over 900) talks from some of the world's most fascinating people: such as education radicals, tech geniuses, medical mavericks, business gurus and music legends. TED talks can make you smarter while you cook supper!

3. peruse my favorite online magazines!
full disclosure = i currently have 2 small boxes filled with sassy magazines...which i have clung to after many moves since they are a quasi-time capsule of my teen years. but i don't want more paper (AKA stuff) in my life right now, so i am THRILLED about the upswing of online only magazines. this weekend i am going to pour a few extra cups of coffee and devour all the eye-candy via my trusty macbook pro. here are a few of my current favorites (in no particular order): rue, lonny, matchbook, est, and sweet paul.

(the weather is supposed to be in the high 40s...so i think a long bike ride is also distraction worthy!)
